My practice focuses on inclusive and user-friendly digital products that center marginalized voices. What I love most about design, is the power to shape the foundation of technology and advocate for greater accessibility and inclusivity. Coming from Pakistan, a country facing a significant technology gap, my aim has always been to lessen this divide by making technology more user-friendly. Though I am first and foremost a designer, I am also a coder, and love to prototype my designs using web technologies.
Designing also keeps my passion for writing alive. I blend visual elements, typography, and user flows to craft a narrative, guiding the user's journey through my designs.
I hold a BA and Masters in Information Science from Cornell University.
While and after pursuing my masters and undergraduate degrees, I worked on projects with companies and campus organizations.
At Cornell DTI, I mentored 15 designers across 8 products, guiding their development through weekly critiques, roadmap talk-throughs, and 1:1 sessions. Additionally, I organized and instructed workshops on user-centered design processes for engineers and project managers in the team.
At Under, I developed an internal communication platform and an MVP for a skatedeck marketplace, collaborating closely with the CEO to align with business needs. My role encompassed market research, user flow creation, and the development of low and high-fidelity prototypes.
I spearheaded the design for the primary version of the ‘Humans of AI’ website following extensive research. This project aims to enhance the understanding between automated system designers and users.
As TA, I worked closely with the professors to plan coursework, grade assignments and mentor Cornell students through each phase of their design journey.
When I'm not designing, you can find me:
